Success

We had a yard sale last weekend and were happy to sell some of the baby gear we've been holding onto for the past six years!  We still have the changing table and crib- let us know if you know of anybody that needs one.  We sold a ton of things, took another huge load to Goodwill, and kept just a few things for a future sale.  It is so nice to clean out our attic a little!

We also went through piles of clothes that have been given to us- thanks Lisa and Jennifer!  I made room in the closet and hung up some of Kate's clothes.  Girl clothes are SO cute!   For now, I'm mostly hanging up size 4T and 5T.  Her feet seem to be about a size 10.  I wonder how much she'll grow before we get her?

Brennan was playing with a friend the other day, and his friend's sister kept knocking down their toys.  He was getting frustrated but stayed sweet.  On the ride home he said to me, "I know my baby sister is going to do that too.  I will just have to train her to be good."  I love his attitude!   I know he's getting used to the idea of a sister because he's talking about it more.  Kate is going to be so lucky to have such a wonderful big brother!

It's been two weeks since our pre-approval.  We are really hoping to get our Letter of Acceptance soon!  Traveling in June would be a dream come true!

Waiting is hard to do...

We really were going to wait until we received our "approval letter" from China before we announced our adoption.  Well... we couldn't wait!  We are too excited!

We truly feel like she is our daughter already!  We feel confident that since our dossier was appoved long ago (2007) and we already have pre-approval, that China will agree we have all the resources needed to meet her special needs. We live in a great city with wonderful hospitals and doctors!  We just know they will approve us!  But just in case... any prayers would truly be appreciated!

Wonderful people along the way!

When we decided to move forward with this adoption, I started looking for grants to apply to in order to help with the costs involved.  I have been amazed at the wonderful organizations and families that sponsor grants (usually in memory of a loved child).  One of the stories that touched me the most was sweet Eliya.  She went to live in heaven at the young age of 19 months.  Her family has such a strength and understanding about them- I cried many tears reading their blog but came away with such a positive and happy feeling about life in general.  They truly are an inspiration!  I have been in touch with Angela, Eliya's mom, a few times and think about them all the time.  If you'd like to read their story go to http://www.eliyasheart.org/

A Mystery..

We have a very sweet but short video of Kate.  A friend at work is trying to figure out what she is saying...  Her video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXYb2aUwtZE   So far we've figured out that it doesn't seem like she is speaking Cantonese or Mandarin.  Please let us know if you know what dialect she is using.  All we know is that in any language she sounds ADORABLE!
